Migrated The Great UK Price Hike
The Wii U’s price has been announced.
America has the earliest release of 18th November, Basic is $299.99 (£185) and Premium is $349.99 (£216).
In Japan the console will be released later than the UK & US on 8th December starting at 26,250 yen (£209) for the Basic, and the premium is 31,500 yen (£251).
Australia & Europe have a simultaneous release on 30th November, in Australia the Basic is $349.95 AUD (£229) and Premium is $429.95 AUD (£281) whilst the UK price is £250 for the Basic and £300 for the Premium.
Which is a price difference of £65 and £84 respectively for the Basic and Premium against America.
When you ask why the UK is getting it so bad they’ll quote you VAT, however you’d have to be mathematically deficient for that to fly, it should be £222 and £259 in that case!
Looks like we’ll be waiting it out for a bit for the price plunge.
